It certainly has been a busy month.  As part of the team at NCVS we have started our yearly conference series.  With a successful trip up to Hervey bay for vets and nurses we have another one for this weekend at Twin Waters (sunshine coast).

This year I am presenting to the vets on Gait and Conformation – a physiotherapy persepective and to the nurses on Overweight pets.  I am enjoying this process more and more, especially with the interaction from the nurses throughout the presentations.  I hope this is enjoyed by all this weekend.

As my role develops as the chair of the Animal Physio group with the APA we have also had our face to face meeting in Melbourne. We are working very hard as a committee to get our educational pathway up and running. As the Masters program stopped in 2007, we have not had any new graduates through in Australia as Animal Physiotherapist.  Currently we are finalising the Level 1 Animal Physiotherapy course through the APA which will run toward the end of this year. This is a mammoth but very important task. Alongside this we hope to get the masters course up and running (with any luck next year).. So onward we go as a new profession in Australia and I look forward to helping our profession move onto the next step over the next few years.

Holidays are nigh… and I am very much looking forward to a breather through June after a busy first half to the year.
