I just love Shepherds. They truly are an amazing breed and such fighters. I have seen some remarkable animals over the years but I must say Shepherds seem to have a spirit that just keeps on going. They are one of the most dedicated breeds and become such an integral part of the family.

In November last year (2011) we were given 3 months supply of steroids for our German shepherd, Bodi and told this will manage his pain as best as we can and we think 3 months should see him through (and without saying the end, this was what the vet was indicating) He told us these steroids will let him enjoy his last days of his life…………….

Bodi was 9 years old at the time and for a German shepherd, as we have been told many times, getting to 10 is fantastic and you should be grateful that he has made it this far. Unfortunately for us, our local vet and our specialist, couldn’t tell us exactly what was wrong with Bode; due to him being full of arthritis, there were unable to do a particular type of test that would show if he had cancer, a degenerate disease or something else, so we were none the wiser as to why he could hardly move, was very awkward when he moved and in a lot of pain.

Not ones to give up (as we had only lost our Doberman to cancer the year before) we searched the web for an alternative and luckily found Brooke!

We cannot thank Brooke enough for everything that she has done for Bodi! Bodi is a new dog, everyone who knows Bodi, cannot believe the improvement in him. In such a short period of time, he has become to dog that he once was!

When we first came and saw Brooke, we were not coping with the thought of losing Bodi, but with Brooke’s guidance, caring manner and thorough plan to get Bodi back on track, in a few weeks we started seeing a huge difference. Bodi started getting his joy of life back and now, nearly a year later, Bodi is still acting like a dog years younger and is so happy and it is all thanks to Brooke.
